We are proud to announce and kick off our Building Better Communities campaign for 2015 by Supporting Boy Scout Troop 102 for the month of January.

For the ParadoxLabs team, scouting is in our blood. Our fearless leader is an Eagle Scout and our public relations director is both a Girl Scout and was a leader of her daughter’s troop for 6 years. Scouting is important for many reasons; it teaches young men and women important lessons and prepares them to become productive and successful adults.

Scouting teaches lessons, such as:

• planning & preparation of projects
• making good, ethical decisions
• respecting individuality within a team
• working together
• leadership
• communication

And more! These are skills that allow a young adult to transition smoothly into the working world. The guiding principles of scouting provide an avenue for our youth to grow physically, socially, and mentally, while learning the value of commitment to one’s self and commitment to the community.

One of the reasons we chose to kick-off our campaign by supporting scouting is because scouting connects individuals to each other and to their community, which is the premise of our initiative. We want you to find your strengths and pull together with others to make a difference.

A successful program needs resources such as funds, donations of items, and volunteers.  Boy Scout Troop 102 needs our help so they can continue to grow and provide young men with the type of character education that breeds tomorrow’s outstanding leaders.

For this project, we talked to Mark Stanavage , Assistant Scoutmaster, and he mentioned the two items listed below as specific needs for the troop. We then talked to our partners, the fine folks at BACKCOUNTRY Edge, who generously offered a 10% discount to anyone who orders the items for the troop via this post.
